Ideal candidates will possess the following: • A BS or BA in the biological sciences or a related field or equivalent laboratory experience (required) • At least 1 year of supervisory experience (preferred); good management skills, including focus on operational efficiency, customer service, and profitability (required) • Experience with ISO17025 standards (preferred) • Proficiency with data entry and computer applications • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Strong attention to detail • Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory General responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following: • Ensuring all testing methodology is followed accurately • Effectively managing staff performance, including through one-on-one meetings, evaluations, and training, to maintain 24/7 operations • Overseeing QA/QC and maintaining compliance with ISO17025 standards • Training staff in testing methods and maintain ongoing staff competence • Effectively scheduling staff according to client needs • Implementing environmental control programs in the laboratory • Ensuring that equipment maintenance, performance verifications, and calibrations are conducted, and records maintained • Interacting with clients to maintain effective communication and ongoing understanding of client operational needs • Maintaining communication with corporate departments to ensure all laboratory processes are up-to-date with latest requirements This is a full-time position and is eligible for standard benefits after a brief waiting period. Ideal candidates will possess the following: - A BS or BA in the Chemistry or related field (required) - Proficiency with data entry and computer applications - Experience with analytical chemistry instrumentation (e.g, HPLC) - Strong attention to detail - Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory Laboratory Analyst/Chemist duties include: analysis of food samples for proximates and/or chemical contaminants, data entry, laboratory reporting, quality control, and other duties as assigned. The pay rate for this position is $22.00 hourly. This is a full-time position and is eligible for the following benefits after a brief waiting period: medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability insurance, health and dependent care FSA plans, employee assistance program, 15 days of paid time off per year for sick leave and/or vacation, 6 paid holidays per year, 3 days paid bereavement leave, and 401(k) (with up to 3% employer match after eligibility criteria are met). The schedule for this position is on a rotating shift basis: the first shift is Monday-Friday, from 8:00am - 4:30pm; the second shift is Tuesday-Saturday, from 2:00pm - 10:30pm. Ideal candidates will possess the following: - An associate degree (required); a BS or BA in the Chemistry or related field (preferred) - Strong attention to detail - Proficiency with data entry and computer applications - Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory Laboratory Analyst duties include: analysis of food samples for pathogens via PCR and immunoassay, various microbe enumerations, compositing and plating samples using aseptic technique, data entry, laboratory reporting, quality control, media preparation, dish washing, and other duties as assigned. Full-time employees will be eligible for standard benefits after a brief waiting period. The schedule for this position is Monday to Friday, from 7:00am - 3:30pm.
