Upon receiving training, the Postdoctoral Research Scientist is expected to help with bench work, proposal/report writing, data analysis, general laboratory works, and any other related tasks assigned as per day-to-day and project needs. This position also includes travelling projects, which involves visiting client sites (spending multiple days on-site if needed), taking environmental samples, sample shipping to the labs, on-site validation studies, on-site inoculation work, performing on-site observations of manufacturing and processing practices, data analysis, report writing, consulting, and any other task assigned by the consulting team leadership. IEH Laboratories, a Leader in Food Safety, is now accepting applications for a Laboratory Analyst position at its facility in Yakima, WA. Ideal candidates will possess the following: - A high school diploma or GED (required); an associate degree in Biology or related field (preferred) - Strong attention to detail - Proficiency with data entry and computer applications - Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory Laboratory Analyst duties include: analysis of food samples for pathogens via PCR and immunoassay, various microbe enumerations, data entry, laboratory reporting, quality control, media preparation, and other duties as assigned. The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00 hourly. Full-time employees are eligible for the following benefits after a brief waiting period: medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability insurance, 401(k), health and dependent care FSA plans, employee assistance program, 15 days of paid time off per year for sick leave and/or vacation, 3 days paid bereavement leave, and 6 paid holidays per year. The laboratory operates weekends, so candidates must be willing to work occasional weekends. Due to exposure to various food allergens in the laboratory environment, applicants with moderate-to-severe food allergies are discouraged from applying.
