Nautilus Environmental has achieved ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation through the Canadian Association for Laboratory Accreditation (CALA) for two aquatic toxicity test methods, becoming the first laboratory in Canada accredited for both methods.
The accreditation covers Ceramium tenuicorne growth inhibition testing and acute toxicity testing using the rainbow trout gill cell line. The Ceramium method is approved for regulatory monitoring of pulp and paper and mining effluents in Canada, while the gill cell line method offers an alternative to vertebrate testing.
