A new peer-reviewed study in the World Mycotoxin Journal examines repeated sample measurements for total aflatoxin and ochratoxin A (OTA) in pistachio lots intended for export.
Authored by IEH scientists, including J.P. Davis, S. Sanchez, Jason Osborne, and Mansour Samadpour, the publication “Comparison of repeated sample measurements for Ochratoxin A and Total Aflatoxin in pistachio lots” compares data from 750 OTA-tested lots and 4,367 aflatoxin-tested lots. The results show consistent variation patterns across both toxins, suggesting opportunities to refine future sampling practices and offer timely insights as OTA regulations expand and global food safety standards continue to evolve.
