DonLevy Laboratories, part of the IEH Laboratories and Consulting Group, is now accepting applications for a Media Technician position at its facility in Crown Point, IN.

DonLevy Laboratories is an independent, commercial, food testing laboratory dedicated to food safety and committed to quality challenges throughout the supply chain. We perform microbiological and chemistry analyses on environmental, raw material, and finished product samples submitted by food companies industry-wide.

Ideal candidates will possess the following:
– A high school diploma or GED (required); an associate degree in Biology or related field (preferred)
– Basic math skills
– Good attitude and willingness to work with others
– Good communication and organization skills
– Ability to occasionally lift 50lbs above waist level
– Ability to regularly lift 30lbs above waist level
– Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory

Laboratory Media Prep Technician duties include: media preparation, sample sorting and log-in, sample testing steps (under supervision), compositing using aseptic technique, transcribing results, data entry, inventory control, washing glassware, general laboratory cleaning, and other duties as assigned.

The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, from 9:00am to 5:30pm (includes 30 minute unpaid meal break). This is a full-time position and is eligible for standard benefits after a brief waiting period. Candidates must be willing to work some holidays and weekends.
