DonLevy Laboratories, part of the IEH Laboratories and Consulting Group, is now accepting applications for a Chemistry Technician position at its facility in Crown Point, IN.

Ideal candidates will possess the following:

– A BS in Chemistry or equivalent experience in related field (required)
– Ability to calibrate and utilize pH, ISE, and potentiometric electrodes
– Strong attention to detail
– Proficiency with data entry and computer applications
– Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
– Strong written and verbal communication skills
– Ability to walk and stand constantly, and occasionally lifting
– Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory

Laboratory Technician duties include analyzing food samples for pH, Aw, fat, moisture, protein, ash, salt, nitrite, peroxide value, etc.; assisting with sample preparation, homogenization, and organization; recording appropriate actions and information as required per SOPs; performing data analysis and calculations; performing daily quality control functions, such as balance verifications and instrument calibrations; operating and maintaining laboratory equipment (blenders, balances, pH meters, titrators, spectrophotometers, ovens, etc.); performing routine cleaning/sanitizing/disinfecting throughout the laboratory; following Good Laboratory Practices (GLP); representing DonLevy Laboratories to clients through a professional demeanor; and other duties as assigned.

This is a full-time position and is eligible for standard benefits after a brief waiting period. The laboratory operates weekends, so candidates must be willing to work some weekends.
