Ideal candidates will possess the following: - A BS or BA in the biological sciences or related field (required) - Strong attention to detail - Proficiency with data entry and computer applications - Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory Laboratory Analyst duties include: analysis of food samples for pathogens via PCR and immunoassay, various microbe enumerations, data entry, laboratory reporting, quality control, media preparation, and other duties as assigned. The pay for this position is $21.00 hourly (plus $2 night shift differential). This is a full-time position, eligible for the following benefits after a brief waiting period: medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability insurance, health and dependent care FSA plans, employee assistance program, 15 days of paid time off per year for sick leave and/or vacation, 6 paid holidays per year, 3 days paid bereavement leave, and 401(k) (with up to 3% employer match after eligibility criteria are met). Training for this position will be during the day shift (8:30am to 5pm). Thereafter, the position may operate on one of the following shifts on a rotating basis: afternoon shift (3:30pm to 12:00am), or night shift (11:30pm to 8:00am).
