IEH Laboratories & Consulting Group proudly welcomes Thomas Hammack as our new Vice President of Technical Services.
With over 30 years of experience in food microbiology gained at the FDA’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN), he brings invaluable expertise to our team. His tenure at the FDA, where he served as Chief of the Microbial Methods Development Branch and later as Senior Policy Analyst for Microbiology, demonstrates his leadership in developing and validating methods crucial for food safety. His contributions extend globally, including his role as Chair of the US Technical Advisory Group to ISO TC 34/SC 9 and his participation as an Expert Review Panel member for AOAC International. Additionally, he has co-authored chapters on Salmonella, Cronobacter, and Food Sampling and Preparation of Sample Homogenate in the FDA’s Bacteriological Analytical Manual (BAM).
Leveraging his extensive experience, he will provide strategic guidance to IEH’s consulting services, ensuring our clients uphold the highest standards of food safety and regulatory compliance.
