Laboratory Technician (Selma, TX)

IEH Laboratories, a Leader in Food Safety, is now accepting applications for a Laboratory Technician at its facility in Selma, TX (Quanta Lab).

Ideal candidates will possess the following:

– A high school diploma or GED (required); an associate degree in Microbiology or related field (preferred)
– Basic math skills
– Good attitude and willingness to work with others
– Good communication and organizational skills
– Ability to regularly lift up to 30lbs above waist level
– Ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs above waist level
– A valid US driver’s license issued at least 5 years prior to the date of hire, with a clean driving record (including, at minimum, no at-fault accidents in the last 5 years) that meets/continues to meet IEH’s motor vehicle risk standards, as verified through ongoing MVR monitoring.

Laboratory Technician duties include: media/sample preparation, sample sorting and log-in, sample testing steps (under supervision), compositing using aseptic technique, transcribing results, washing glassware, general laboratory cleaning, safely transporting samples from customers to the lab on a fixed schedule, cleaning and maintaining coolers for sample transport, inventory control, and other duties as assigned.

This is a full-time position and is eligible for standard benefits after a brief waiting period. The schedule for this position is Tuesday – Saturday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. This lab operates weekends, so candidates must be willing to work some weekends.
