Weber Scientific, Inc. (Weber) is seeking a dependable Machinist to join our manufacturing team in Robbinsville, New Jersey. This position plays a key role in ensuring product quality through in-process inspection and continuous adjustment, while also contributing to process improvements, efficiency gains, and safe, organized shop operations.
Ideal candidates will possess the following:
– High School diploma or equivalent (required)
– Experience in industrial packaging equipment, automation systems, and manufacturing support environments (at least 5 years, required)
– Must have hands-on experience troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment (required)
– Strong visual inspection skills (required)
– Technical skills include PLC troubleshooting, Siemens systems, VFD programming, electrical testing, diagram reading/writing, and industrial automation support (required)
– Leadership experience, from managing technicians, coordinating projects, supporting equipment installations, and helping improve customer efficiency and equipment reliability
– Ability to correctly perform basic-to-moderately complex mathematical calculations
– Ability to read and properly use precise measuring equipment
– Ability to read, understand and follow safety guidelines
– Ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented manufacturing environment
– Ability to work independently, with minimum of supervision
– Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.)
– Knowledge of hand tools and mechanical assemblies
– Ability to Stand, walk, and engage in other moderately rigorous physical activity (including stooping, reaching, handling tools, and ascending/descending stairs or ladders) for extended periods
– Ability to occasionally lift up to 30lbs above waist level
– Exposure to moderate high noise levels (PPE provided)
– Ability to work in tight, awkward, and confined spaces as needed.
Machinist duties include, but are not limited to:
– Commissioning, installing, programming, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining machines and instruments, including filling machines, rotary capping machines, unscramblers, checkweighers, taping machines, autoclaves, custom machinery, etc.
– Adjusting machinery, within procedural limits, to optimize performance on a regular basis
– Monitoring speeds and feeds for most efficient and safe operation
– Installing fixtures and using set-up sheets
– Maintaining logs, documentation, manuals, and calibrations
– Maintaining work area and equipment in an organized manner
– Performing preventive maintenance and following company safety protocols
– Collaborating with team members to resolve machining or setup challenges and problems
– Performing secondary operations on manual machines
– Helping to identify potential problems
The pay range for this position is $35.00 to $40.00 hourly.
