Microbial Toxins Testing

Expedited Microbial Toxins Testing

Microbial toxins are poisonous small molecules, peptides, or proteins made by microbes such as bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and some algae during growth. Food microbial toxins are dangerous because they can cause both rapid (acute) poisoning and long term (chronic) damage in humans and pets. IEH Laboratories provides validated testing services to help clients detect, quantify, and manage microbial toxin hazards across a wide range of complex product matrices. Our services support hazard analysis, verification of preventive controls, and investigation of suspected toxin-related foodborne illness.

If you have a unique matrix, we can help determine the best approach for your sample type.

Expedited testing, comprehensive analysis

We use validated rapid immunoassays (such as ELISA and lateral flow), culture-based methods, and confirmatory chromatographic techniques (e.g., LC-MS/MS) to deliver accurate quantitative and qualitative results.

Our technical team assists clients with selecting appropriate toxin panels based on product type and risk profile, designing sampling plans, and interpreting results in the context of regulatory limits and internal specifications. We also offer guidance on corrective actions, shelf life studies, and validation or verification studies when toxin hazards are identified in the product or environment.
