DonLevy Laboratories, part of the IEH Laboratories and Consulting Group, is now accepting applications for a Part-Time Laboratory Courier position at its facility in Crown Point, IN.
DonLevy Laboratories is an independent, commercial food testing laboratory dedicated to food safety and committed to providing solutions for quality challenges throughout the supply chain. We perform microbiological and chemistry analyses on environmental, raw material, and finished product samples submitted by food companies industry-wide.
Ideal candidates will possess the following:
• A high school diploma or GED (required); an associate degree in Biology or related field (preferred)
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word)
• Ability to regularly lift up to 30lbs above waist level
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs above waist level
• A detail-oriented approach, strong communication in handling all tasks, and sound judgment in day-to-day interactions
• Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory
• A valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets/continues to meet motor vehicle risk standards, as verified through ongoing MVR monitoring
Laboratory Courier duties include safely transporting samples from customers to the lab on a fixed schedule and other duties as assigned.
This is a part-time position (25-30 hours per week), with a start time between 6:00am and 9:00am. The laboratory operates 24/7, so candidates must be willing to work weekends and holidays. Routes will range in length (including anywhere from 5 – 11hrs in length) and candidates must be willing to drive throughout the Chicagoland area, as well as into parts of Michigan/Wisconsin.
