Analytical Services, Inc. (ASI) has an immediate opening for Microbiologists to work at our environmental microbiology laboratory in Williston, VT.
Applicants must possess a BS or BA in the biological sciences or a related field. Prior laboratory experience is preferred.
Ideal candidates should possess the following skills:
– Strong attention to detail
– Proficiency with data entry and computer applications
– Ability to learn new software
– Ability to work with different equipment and understand their operation
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
– Strong written and verbal communication skills
– Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory
– Able to regularly lift 50lbs
Primary responsibilities will involve work in our general microbiology section; focusing on Legionella, aerobic endospore, coliphage and related analyses, including report preparation and review, as well as sample preparation for Microscopic Particulate Analysis, biosolids pathogen assays, etc. Additional duties will include other traditional and molecular assays, data entry, autoclaving, glassware preparation and other general lab duties as assigned.
Successful candidates will be trained using Standard Operating Procedures to work not only independently but also as part of the Laboratory Operations team in a fast-paced, collegial but professional laboratory environment.
This is a full-time position in which the employee will be eligible for standard benefits after a brief waiting period. ASI has a comprehensive benefits package, including available Health, Vision, Dental, Disability and Life Insurance, paid time off and 401k. The hours are Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm.
