Participation in Managing & Execution of Response

IEH has participated at the managerial level in implementing recall and response plans for some of the largest food recalls in the nation. IEH has worked as a client advocate, but has also been able to act as a third-party participant to facilitate communications with regulatory agencies. In many cases IEH has been able to design and arrive at mutually-agreeable food safety response plans which ensure that consumers are protected while the client is able to continue operation and investigate the problem.
Managerial capabilities that IEH has cover many areas, including:
  • Advising management or taking a lead role in coordinating company resources including the emergency response team, the legal team, the accounting department and public relations
  • Communicating with the regulatory agencies and health authorities
  • Establishing disciplined communications with the press and the public
  • Moderating public meetings and gaining back customer confidence, if necessary
  • Establishing a consumer call center
  • Advising management or taking a lead role in coordinating with insurance companies regarding health care cost, refunds, damages, etc.
  • Communicating incident information to vendors
  • Developing and implementing assessment criteria for vendors who may be the source of the problem
  • Communicating incident information to store managers and franchisees
  • Isolating the problem, identifying the cause, involving the vendors if they are the source of the problem
  • Litigation support: identify and settle cases as fast as possible
