Food Allergens

Undeclared allergens constitute a large portion of food recalls, and there is a tendency to underestimate the impact of allergens in foods on a susceptible population. The field of allergen testing is rather new and evolving, so crucial issues, such as threshold levels for each allergen, have either not been established or the consensus is still developing.

At IEH Laboratories, we offer a comprehensive array of allergen testing, consulting, and validation study services for food allergen concerns. Our research and consulting teams are at the forefront of the allergen testing and control program industries, and together with our unsurpassed technology, we provide the highest quality services.

Samples submitted for allergen testing that are received before 12PM PST include a same-day turnaround.

Allergen confirmation tests

Since the majority of allergen tests are based on antigen-antibody interactions, and by their nature, any antibody would have a level of cross-reactivity with non-target antigens with similar epitopes, we believe when important samples test positive for allergen residue, it is prudent to subject them to confirmation tests to avoid making consequential decisions based on false positives.
